| APPLICATIONS: BD Aqueo Premium s a sterile saline solution for intra-ocular irrigation indicated for all intra-ocular surgical procedures, including those requiring a relatively long intra-ocular perfusion time (e.g. pars plana vitrectomy, phacoemulsification, extracapsular cataract extraction / lens aspiration, reconstruction of the anterior segment, etc.). It provides effective irrigation to reduce corneal swelling and maintain the integrity of the corneal endothelium during the intra-ocular perfusion. A key purpose of an intra-ocular irrigating solution is to maintain both the anatomic and physiologic integrity of intra-ocular tissues : being close to the aqueous and vitreous humor in terms of chemical composition, BD Aqueo Premium provides adequate protection during surgery. SPECIFICATIONS: The combination of an antioxidant, a buffer and an energy source. Glutathione (GSSG) - Its reduced form (GSH) acts as a natural antioxidant, protecting cells from toxins which form during surgery : a key player in preventing cell apoptosis and damage to the barrier function of the corneal endothelium. Sodium bicarbonate - the body's natural buffer - is present in the ionic composition of aqueous humor. It maintains the blood aqueous barrier and helps maintain retinal functions. Glucose - the main energy source of the cellular function - acts on the transparency of the cornea and lens as well as helps maintain retinal functions. BD Aqueo Premium has the required pH and ion composition to maintain the normal electrical retinal activity. PRESENTATION: BD Aqueo Premium comes in a twoflask presentation. • A 475 ml sterile saline solution in a 500 ml glass bottle (Part A) • A 25 ml concentrated sterile solution in a single dose plastic flask (Part B) supplied with an 18 G 11/2 BDTM Blunt Fill needle for a safe transfer of the concentrate. BD Aqueo Premium is ready to use only immediately after reconstitution which consists of adding the part B concentrate to the Part A saline solution. GERİ |
